The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE, later renamed the Mercedes-AMG ONE, is one of the most technologically advanced hypercars in automotive history.
Developed by AMG in collaboration with engineers from Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains, the model essentially brings the hybrid powertrain of a Formula 1 car to public roads.
The project was unveiled as a concept in 2017, and production vehicles began rolling off the line in a limited series starting in 2022. The car’s standout feature is its powertrain, based on the engine from a Mercedes F1 car.
It includes a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 and four electric motors, forming the E-Performance hybrid system.
Total output reaches 1,063 horsepower, and the engine is capable of revving up to 11,000 rpm, which is a unique figure for a road car.
The powertrain works in conjunction with a 7-speed automated transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, where two electric motors drive the front axle.
A carbon-fiber monocoque, active aerodynamics, and a motorsport-inspired push-rod suspension give the hypercar handling characteristics as close as possible to those of a Formula 1 car.
The car was produced in a strictly limited run of 275 units, and its launch price exceeded €2.3 million, underscoring Project ONE’s status as one of the most exclusive hypercars of our time.
