  The 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most extreme factory-built version of the S550-generation Mustang.

  The car combines the traditional character of an American muscle car with technologies developed by Ford Performance for the Ford GT supercar and the Mustang GT4 race car.

  Powertrain and Performance Under the hood is a hand-built 5.2-liter Predator V8 with a 2.65-liter Eaton mechanical supercharger.

  The engine produces 760 l. s. and 847 N·m, which are transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed Tremec DCT dual-clutch transmission.

  Acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 3.5 seconds, and the car covers the quarter-mile in less than 11 seconds.

  Top speed is limited to approximately 290 km/h.

  The GT500 completes the 0–161 km/h stop test in 10.6 seconds.

  Chassis and Aerodynamics The MagneRide adaptive suspension constantly adjusts the shock absorber settings, ensuring stability on both public roads and the racetrack.

  The front Brembo brakes feature six-piston calipers and massive 420-millimeter rotors.

  The optional Carbon Fiber Track Package adds carbon-fiber wheels, an adjustable GT4-style rear wing, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and Recaro sport seats.

  The rear seats have been removed in this version to reduce weight. 2022 Highlights For the final model year of the S550-generation GT500, a Heritage Edition was offered to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the original Shelby GT500. It featured a Brittany Blue paint finish and signature racing stripes in Wimbledon White or Absolute Black.
