Jaguar Land Rover to assemble Range Rover Evoque at new Tamil Nadu plant
Jaguar Land Rover will begin local assembly of the Range Rover Evoque at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ new Panapakkam facility, with the first CKD-built units scheduled to roll out on February 9, 2026. The plant, backed by a roughly Rs 9,000 crore investment, will initially host Evoque assembly to free capacity at Tata’s Pune operations and support regional logistics.
The move matters for pricing and supply: localized assembly is intended to cut import costs, shorten customer wait times and create a pathway for exports as the site ramps toward a planned 250,000 annual capacity.
Suppliers, local employment and port logistics are likely to see immediate effects, and Indian buyers may see improved availability and more competitive pricing for compact luxury SUVs.
