BMW raises prices on some 2026 models, affecting X5 M
Road Ethos reported on May 1, 2026 that BMW implemented cumulative price increases on select 2026 models.
An initial 1.9% adjustment in July 2025 followed by an additional roughly 1% in January 2026. Together those rounds added up to several thousand dollars on some higher‑end vehicles, with the X5 M named among the affected models.
BMW and its dealer network are the primary actors; buyers of performance SUVs now face higher out‑the‑door costs as destination and handling fees also climbed.
This change matters because it increases lease and purchase costs for M customers and alters competitive pricing for performance SUVs.
The report also notes BMW’s electric lineup was largely excluded from these increases, underscoring a strategic split in pricing policy.
