Audi has unveiled the 2027 RS5 as a 630 hp plug-in hybrid
Audi Sport introduced the 2027 RS5 sedan and Avant as a plug-in hybrid delivering a combined 630 hp from a twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor.
The package pairs a roughly 25.9 kWh battery (about 22.0 kWh usable) with an electric drive that also feeds an electro-mechanical torque-vectoring rear system.
Audi cites a 0–62 mph time of about 3.6 seconds and claims city EV range in the mid-50s miles under certain conditions.
This launch signals a clear shift in Audi’s high-performance strategy toward electrified RS models.
The battery-backed torque-vectoring alters handling characteristics and requires charge management to access peak modes.
Higher curb weights and premium pricing may reshape enthusiast expectations and dealer servicing demands.
European ordering and pricing are set early 2026; U.S. availability is not confirmed.
