  2026 Audi A8 L Security Armored VR9 Factory-fitted armor Manufactured in 2026. Audi has completely redesigned and reinforced the A8 L’s passenger compartment for the Security version; the body is certified to VR9 ballistic standards, capable of withstanding hundreds of 7.62mm rounds, while the windows provide VR10-level protection against sniper fire.

  The fuel tank is also lined with a self-sealing material, so there will be no leakage in the event of a shot.

  Furthermore, the underbody of the A8 L Security is designed to withstand grenade explosions and even features an anti-magnetic coating to eliminate the risk of damage from magnetic bombs.

  Thanks to these upgrades, the A8 L Security weighs 4,450 kg.

  Each door weighs 160 kg, which is the ultimate expression of that pleasant “heaviness” associated with German cars.

  As for the tires, Audi equips the A8 L Security with Michelin PAX run-flat tires, which are much thicker than those on the standard A8, and if deflated, they can travel 80 km at speeds up to 80 km/h.

  Each front fender also features a pair of retractable flag holders, which is convenient for delegates and VIPs arriving from abroad.

  Inside, the A8 L Security is virtually identical in layout and features to its passenger version.

  However, the center console features a matrix of buttons to turn on external strobe lights, activate the intercom, start air purification or fire suppression systems, and more.

  If you find yourself in a tight spot, there is even an emergency exit system that activates explosives located in the door hinges and completely blows the doors off.

  Under the hood of the A8 L Security is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine that produces 571 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque.

  Moving nearly 4.5 tons of bulletproof sedan might seem like a daunting task, but this V8—paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive—allows the A8 L Security to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a very respectable 6.3 seconds
