Porsche launches esports Carrera Cup North America using the 911 Cup car
Porsche Motorsport North America announced a new six‑race Porsche Esports Carrera Cup North America on Feb. 3, 2026, that will use the Type 992.2 Porsche 911 Cup on the iRacing platform.
The series, run by PMNA in partnership with iRacing, opens with online qualifying at Sebring and Road America and mirrors key procedures of the real‑world Carrera Cup: practice, qualifying, sprint races, stewarding and a points system that replicates the analogue championship.
Who: Porsche Motorsport North America and iRacing.
What: a structured sim‑racing championship using the new 911 Cup car.
Why it matters: it extends Porsche’s driver pathway, boosts fan engagement, and standardizes competition for sim racers across North America.
Consequences include clearer progression for talent and closer alignment between Porsche’s physical and virtual racing programs.
