The new Audi RS 5 is put to the test in Morocco

Audi ran first public drives of the new RS 5 in Marrakesh and on the Atlas Mountains on March 3, 2026, putting the car through both circuit and mountain tests to demonstrate behaviour in demanding, real‑world conditions.

Audi Sport GmbH and senior executives including CEO Gernot Döllner and Audi Sport managing director Rolf Michl led the media programme, offered on‑site statements, and highlighted the engineering goals behind the new RS iteration.

Testing confirmed the plug‑in hybrid RS 5’s combined 470 kW (639 PS) output, electromechanical rear‑axle torque vectoring, and twin‑valve RS sport suspension.

This matters because the RS 5 marks a clear shift to electrified performance in Audi’s RS portfolio, with implications for future RS model architectures, emissions strategy, dealer readiness, and buyer expectations.
