Two extreme sports cars, one platform: Mercedes-AMG announces new GT3 and Black Series
Mercedes‑AMG announced its next‑generation GT3 and a road‑legal GT Black Series, identifying the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT as the shared technology base.
Mercedes‑AMG and its newly established Affalterbach Racing GmbH said prototypes have undergone intensive testing on Bilster Berg, Portimão and the Nürburgring.
Executives including Michael Schiebe and Christoph Sagemüller said the programme targets both customer racing teams and a high‑performance road derivative.
This matters because the GT3 will continue Mercedes‑AMG’s customer‑racing legacy while the Black Series brings extreme track hardware to a road car.
Mercedes‑AMG aims to set new competitiveness and lap benchmarks, and has already defined a livery language (red for GT3, yellow‑green for Black Series); technical and homologation details will follow.
