GMC Hummer EV outpaces several supercars in short drag runs
GMC filmed a controlled 0–60 mph comparison at Texas Motor Speedway that saw a 2026 Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition beat five high-performance cars in repeated short runs.
The Hummer, fitted with the 3X tri-motor calibration and the available 24‑module battery, ran multiple Watts‑to‑Freedom launches while carrying four occupants and a camera rig.
Drivers and GMC engineers say the truck’s instant electric torque and revised propulsion calibration produced consistent sub‑three‑second launches, reinforcing GMC’s performance claim.
The result matters because it gives GMC a high‑visibility demonstration to support marketing and buyer perception of EV truck performance, though the runs address short‑distance acceleration only and do not change expected outcomes over longer or road‑course conditions.
