Bentayga X concept shows off ice‑race and off‑road upgrades
Bentley unveiled the Bentayga X concept at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, presenting a purpose‑built study of a more rugged Bentayga.
The show car, developed with FAT International, is based on the Bentayga Speed and pairs the production V8 drivetrain with functional bodywork changes: a 120 mm wider track, roughly 55 mm more ride height, 22‑inch forged wheels shod with off‑road tyres, extended wheelarches, a roof storage rack and auxiliary lighting.
Who is involved: Bentley Motors and FAT International led the debut, with Bentley engineers validating packaging and performance on snow and ice.
Why it matters: the concept tests customer appetite for a capability‑focused luxury SUV and signals a potential direction for future Bentayga variants.
Consequences: if well received, Bentley could develop a limited production X‑inspired model or transfer key technical upgrades into special editions, shifting Bentley’s SUV strategy toward greater on‑ and off‑road versatility while maintaining luxury positioning.
