Porsche’s Cayenne Electric enters production with in-house battery modules
Porsche has begun series production of the Cayenne Electric in Bratislava and is expanding its in‑house battery capability to support the SUV’s launch.
The company says the Cayenne Electric’s pack uses six modules and 192 large pouch cells produced at Porsche’s Horna Streda battery shop, with a gross capacity of 113 kWh.
Porsche highlights new thermal management and a function‑integrated pack structure that raises energy density and charging consistency compared with the Taycan.
For buyers and the business, the move matters because it shifts a high‑volume nameplate from development into scalable production while giving Porsche closer control over battery performance and supply.
The ramp signals Porsche’s intent to compete on EV packaging and repeatable real‑world charging behavior as the model reaches customers in the months ahead.
