Porsche mulls merging Taycan and Panamera
Autocar reports Porsche is studying a plan to merge the Taycan and Panamera into a single model family.
Sources say CEO Michael Leiters is considering unifying replacements to cut development and production costs by consolidating platforms while still offering petrol, plug-in hybrid and fully electric variants.
This matters because combining the combustion‑engine Panamera and electric Taycan would reshape product planning and reduce duplicate development spending.
The move could speed future rollouts and lower supplier complexity, but it risks diluting distinct model identities and complicating marketing.
