Porsche launches an esports Carrera Cup using the new 911 Cup race car
Porsche Motorsport North America has launched the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup North America, a six‑round virtual championship that uses the new 911 Cup (Type 992.2) on the iRacing platform.
The series mirrors the real‑world Carrera Cup calendar and is open to sim racers from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Qualifying for the fixed‑setup championship begins in mid‑February, and the program is organized by Porsche Motorsport North America in coordination with Carrera Cup events.
The development matters because it extends the 911 Cup programme into digital motorsport, creates a new entry point for talent and fans, and broadens sponsorship and audience opportunities for Porsche ahead of the 2026 racing season.
The initiative links factory racing hardware to the growing sim‑racing ecosystem.
