Porsche begins production of the Cayenne Electric at Bratislava plant
Porsche confirmed on Feb. 3, 2026, that series production of the 2026 Cayenne Electric has started at the Bratislava assembly complex.
The Cayenne Electric, built on the PPE platform, will use an in‑house battery module supply chain via a new Porsche Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda that assembles pouch‑cell modules for a 113 kWh pack (108 kWh usable).
Porsche says the revised line can build combustion, hybrid and electric Cayennes on flexible tooling, and the new battery configuration supports rapid 800‑volt charging and WLTP ranges above 600 km.
Who: Porsche and its suppliers.
What: start of Cayenne Electric production and localized module assembly.
Why it matters: it signals Porsche’s industrial shift toward EVs while retaining production flexibility.
Consequences: earlier deliveries to markets, new supply‑chain steps and potential impacts on EV capacity and pricing.
