BMW’s Dealer Boss Wants a True Cadillac Escalade Competitor Bigger Than the X7
Kirk Cordill, chairman of the BMW National Dealer Forum, told Automotive News that dealers want BMW to develop a larger, three‑row full‑size SUV capable of challenging American trucks such as the Cadillac Escalade.
Cordill said a bigger model—potentially an X9 or Alpina‑branded variant—could compete directly with Escalade and Lincoln Navigator in the U.S. market.
If BMW pursues such a vehicle it would alter Escalade’s competitive set, increase product development pressure on Cadillac, and could shift pricing and marketing dynamics in the large luxury SUV segment.
