BMW Alpina production will be split across BMW Group plants
BMW has begun equipping multiple BMW Group plants to build upcoming BMW ALPINA cars, preparing sites such as Dingolfing and Spartanburg to meet bespoke assembly standards.
BMW and ALPINA say the upgrades will support an ALPINA-badged 7 Series sedan and an ALPINA-derived X7 SUV.
The move matters because it signals ALPINA’s evolution into a distinct premium sub-brand, will change production capacity and supplier needs, and tight initial volumes could keep prices high.
BMW aims to debut the sedan later this year with series production slated for mid-2027. Dealers will need special training and suppliers must meet tighter quality controls, which could slow initial deliveries and push early resale values higher.
