Bentley uses X concept to gauge appetite for rugged Bentayga
Bentley introduced an extreme Bentayga X Concept aimed at testing demand for a more rugged SUV.
Based on the Bentayga Speed, the concept retains the twin‑turbo 4.0‑liter V8 (641bhp in Speed form) while adding 55mm of ride height, a 120mm wider track, 22‑inch one‑piece wheels and high‑profile all‑terrain tyres.
Bentley says the package increases wading depth to roughly 550mm and pushes ground clearance to just under 310mm.
Autocar reports the X will be used at the FAT Ice Race and driven by Chris Harris, with the objective of “stimulating and gaining feedback.”
The practical consequence: a positive market reaction could prompt Bentley to convert the concept into a limited production variant, forcing supply, service and pricing decisions for dealers and buyers.
